From friendly front-desk greetings to perfectly executed events, Alex and Yolanda bring help bring the QV1 experience to life.
How long have you both been part of the QV1 team, and what are your respective roles?
Alex & Yolanda: We both started at QV1 together in October 2023, which made joining the team feel pretty seamless from day one. Alex looks after Hospitality and Customer Service across the building, while Yolanda supports the Conference Centre as Conference & Events Assistant Manager. Our roles naturally intersect, so we work closely together to make sure tenants and guests feel welcomed, supported, and looked after.
What does a “day in the life” look like for each of you at QV1?
Alex: No two days are ever the same and that’s what makes the role so enjoyable. One minute I might be helping set up an event in the conference centre or managing tenant enquiries, and the next I’m dealing with something totally unexpected, like handling chickens for a Plaza activation. It’s fast-paced, varied, and always keeps you on your toes.
Yolanda: My days usually revolve around liaising with tenants, preparing and setting up event spaces, and working closely with the Concierge and Marketing teams to support tenant events. It can be busy, but it’s really satisfying seeing everything come together especially when you watch an event run smoothly and know you’ve played a part in making it happen.
What do you enjoy most about working together to deliver the QV1 experience?
Alex & Yolanda: Working together allows us to create a really seamless, end-to-end experience. From a guest’s first interaction at the Concierge desk to the final moments of an event in the Conference Centre, we’re constantly communicating and supporting each other. That collaboration helps ensure everything runs smoothly and makes the experience feel effortless for tenants and guests.
Is there a standout moment or story from the Conference Centre or Concierge desk that reflects what QV1 is all about?
Alex & Yolanda: One standout moment for both of us was the Conference Centre Showcase, which was a new initiative that gave us the chance to push the envelope and bring our service offering to life in a really engaging way. We transformed the function room into a mock event, complete with catering options and equipment set-ups, so tenants could actually experience what’s possible rather than just being told about it. It was fun, creative, and a great example of how we’re always looking for new ways to connect with tenants and deliver experiences that feel thoughtful and meaningful.
If you could describe the QV1 community in three words, what would they be?
Alex & Yolanda: Welcoming, supportive, and vibrant – a place where people genuinely connect and want to be part of what’s happening.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Alex: Outside of work, life’s taken on a whole new rhythm. I’ve recently become a dad for the first time with my partner, which has been pretty special. There’s a lot less sleep, but a lot more joy. Any time outside of work is now all about family time and soaking up those early moments.
Yolanda: I’m a bit of an adrenaline seeker outside of work. I recently ticked skydiving off my bucket list, which was equal parts terrifying and amazing. I love trying new experiences and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
