Bec Abdy, a self-taught artist from Perth, blends native flora, portraiture, and ethereal elements in her oil paintings and murals. Drawing inspiration from Western Australia’s natural beauty, her vibrant work invites viewers into a visual journey that connects them to the land, transforming everyday spaces into immersive experiences.
Curated with the support of Blank Walls, this bespoke series of lift murals takes a vertical journey through Western Australia’s diverse landscapes, each lift capturing the essence of a different region.
Inspired by the Pilbara’s rugged terrain, the high-rise lift design features deep red earth, boab tree, and the sun, symbolising the region’s resilience. The mid-rise lift reflects Kalbarri’s coastline, with the Australian Darter bird and vibrant copper cup flowers celebrating its biodiversity. Finally, the low-rise lift honours Kings Park, with eucalyptus trees and vibrant blossoms that bring warmth and energy to the space.
