TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Offer a helping hand to the homeless and disadvantaged in Perth by donating your spare winter clothes and blankets to Manna.
We may be in spring, but with no roof over your head, Perth can still be quite a cold place. You can help bring some warmth into someone’s life.
Items that you can donate include:
- Sleeping Bags
- Jumpers, jackets and coats
- Scarves, beanies, gloves
Please place your goods in a bag, and drop it in the giant gift box in the lobby by the Concierge Desk.
Manna provides meals to the homeless through its Hot ‘n’ Healthy Meals as well as other donations such as blankets and clothing when the opportunity arises.
Manna serves soup, a main meal (with cooked vegies/salad), plus a dessert and a drink six days a week (Sunday through Friday). The meals are prepared fresh every morning and handed out free to the Homeless at 1:30pm in the park at Weld Square near the Perth city.
This is all provided with no expectation from the homeless that they have to contribute financially.
Unfortunately the numbers of the homeless continue to grow and include children through to the elderly. This means an ever-increasing need for more resources.
It is estimated that over 90,000 meals are required per year for distribution to the disadvantaged of Perth. Each day teams of up to ten Manna volunteers prepare hundreds of Hot ’n’ Healthy meals which are then taken to an inner city park.
At present approximately 250 men, women and children gather at the park to receive their meal, and in many cases, this is their only meal for the day.
Manna volunteers distribute meals from the Manna van or set up tables around the van so they can interact with the homeless.
Manna offer opportunities for individual volunteering as well as corporate volunteering.
Please visit www.manna.org.au or email email@example.com for further details on how to be involved.
