Are you interested in participating in research investigating the effect of Stress and Relaxation on the Mind and Body? The School of Sports Science, Exercise and Health at the University of Western Australia is conducting a research study that aims to compare the physiological and psychological effect of stress and relaxation in males and females.

This study offers the opportunity to take part in a free 8-week worksite mindfulness-based relaxation course. There will be one weekly class at QV1. You will be asked to maintain a regular relaxation practice at home, for which you will be given a recording of the live class.

In addition, you will be required to attend two laboratory sessions (between 8.00am – 10.30am) eight weeks apart. Each lab session will last two and a half hours. Commencement dates can be discussed with Tasmiah (Tas).

Unlike other stress management courses, participation in this course will include a personal snapshot of your own stress profile before, and after the course, along with measures of modifiable personal characteristics that may affect your ability to counteract stress.

If you are healthy, aged between 18-60 years and want to know more please contact Tasmiah (Tas) Masih on 0421 130 222, or email tasmiah.masih@research.uwa.edu.au.
